Using this form, you can add a new fixed asset master record or edit the properties of an existing fixed asset.

Note that the required fields are: Description, ID, and Class.


The "Fixed Asset (create)" form

In the Folder field, select the group to which this fixed asset belongs. 

Use the Description field to provide a brief description for the fixed asset.

In the ID field, enter a unique identifier for the fixed asset.

In the Type field, you can select one of the following options as the type of this fixed asset: Fixed Asset or Intangible Asset. The type of  a fixed asset is specified for informational purposes only.

In the Class field, you can select or create a class of non-current assets to which this fixed asset can be assigned. For details on classes, refer to Non-Current Asset Classes.

The toolbar buttons

After filling out the form, click the Save button to save the master record.

Use the Edit GL Accounts button to view the default GL accounts assigned to the fixed asset or edit the accounts. For more information, see Fixed Assets. GL Accounts.

Available Links

The following links are available on the top of the form:

  • Fixed Assets Documents: Opens the list of documents related to this fixed asset.
  • Fixed Assets Parameters: Opens the list of parameters of this fixed asset.
  • Fixed Assets Statuses: Lists the statuses if changes occurred to the fixed asset.
  • Fixed Assets Output: Opens the Fixed Asset Output report, so you can review the usage.
  • Inventory Card: Generates the Inventory Card report for the fixed asset.
  • Statement of Depreciation: Generates the Statement of Depreciation report with the amounts of accumulated depreciation and net book value.
