To access the Credit Notes list, go to Sales > Sales Documents > Credit Notes.
The Credit Notes list
The list of credit notes includes all the Credit Notes available in the system. If you don't see a specific document, filter the list by company, responsible person, or warehouse; rearrange the list by date or document number or use the Search field to locate the document by a string in its description, company name, or contract number. You can change the list display settings to suit your particular needs. To learn more about the list display settings, see Working with the item list.
Credit notes can be created based on documents of the Invoice type.
Credit notes can be created with the following transaction types:
- Mutual Settlements Adjustment: To adjust the accounts receivable of the entity involved.
- Goods Return: To register the return of goods from customers and adjust the accounts receivable.
- Invoice Correction: To adjust an earlier created invoice.
Credit notes can be used as the basis for documents of the following types:
- Cash Payment: For cash payments to customers.
- Bank Payment: For bank payments to customers.
- Cheque Issued: For payments to customers made by bank cheques.
- Goods Receipt Note: To register the return of goods from customers to warehouses where warehouse documents are used separately from financial documents. This type of documents is available if the Separate Inventory and Financial Documents option is selected on the Administration > Settings > Purchasing and Warehouses form.
- Money Payment (Plan): To plan payments to be sent to the customer. This type of documents is available if the Cash Flow Forecasting option is selected on the Administration > Settings > Money form.
- Tax Credit Note: To inform the customer about the VAT corrections. To be printed and sent to the customer. (This option is not available for the Mutual Settlements Adjustment transaction type).
The toolbar buttons
To manually create a new document of the Credit Note type, click the Create button on the toolbar.
To create a document based on a credit note, select the appropriate credit note from the list, click the Generate button and select the required document type. The data from the credit note will be automatically copied to the new document.
To edit an existing document, double-click the line with the document in the Credit Notes list. You can also select the line, right-click it, and select Edit or click on the toolbar: More actions > Edit .
