A Requisition records the needs of a specific base unit (department or warehouse) for goods or services that need to be transferred from another base unit, purchased, or manufactured.

To enable this feature, go to Administration > Settings: Purchasing and Warehouse > Enable Requisition.

You can find this document in the Purchasing module.

Entity: Select the entity responsible for the document.

Recipient: Choose the base unit that will receive the goods or services.

Requested by: Select the employee who requested the items.

Required Date: Set the date by which the requisition should be fulfilled.

Customer Order Field: Reference a related customer order.

Basis Field: Select a document type (Customer Order, Production Order, Project Estimate) to base the Requisition on; use Fill by Basis to auto-populate.

Project Link: If Project Costing is enabled, link to a project or move the Project field to the Inventory tab for different projects.

Project Tasks: Link the document or line items to project tasks if enabled; move the Project Task column as needed.

Complete the fields for item, quantity, price, VAT, project task, and transaction content on the Inventory and Services tab as needed. Additionally, there are two new fields: Fulfillment Method and Fulfillment Source.

  • Fulfillment Method: Select how the request will be fulfilled:

    • Purchase: Buy the requested item.
    • Production: Manufacture the requested item.
    • Inventory Transfer: Transfer the item from another warehouse or base unit.
  • Fulfillment Source: Indicate the source for purchasing, producing, or transferring the item.
