Sometimes, you need to temporarily lock up the application so that the users would have no access to it. For example, you might need to lock up the application during non-working hours to install important updates or to perform some maintenance works.

To set up the lockup time interval and temporarily lock up the application, select Administration > Service Tools > Application Locking.

The Application Lock form

Before you lock the application, you can view the list of users who are currently active in the application.

Use the Message for users text box to enter the message that will be displayed to users when they are attempting to log into the application during the lockup period.

In the From field, specify the date and time when the lockup period starts.

In the To field, specify the date and time when the lockup period ends.

In the Unlock Code field, type an alphanumeric string to be used as a code that you can use to unlock the application before the specified end of the lockup period.

The toolbar buttons

Click the Set lock button to apply the lock. The application prompts you to confirm the lockup operation (see the screenshot below).

The application will be locked up starting the specified time ( the From field).

If you continue working with the application on the start of the lockup period, you will be prompted to confirm to terminate your session, however, you can choose to not terminate.

To perform any maintenance work during the lockup period, you can open the application by using the code specified in the Unlock Code field.
