After some period of fixed asset usage, the organization may decide to stop the usage due to various reasons ; however, the and to stop depreciation calculation can be continued. The fixed asset status changes to In Conservation and the net book value will be moved to the Assets in Conservation GL Account from the Fixed Asset GL account. Also, depreciation calculation for the listed assets can be stoppedremains the same during the conservation period. However, the depreciation calculation will be resumed once conservation of the fixed asset is cancelled.

To manually create a new document of the Conservation of Fixed Assets type, click the Create button on the toolbar.
If you need to start conservation of specific fixed assets, click the Create button to create a new Conservation of Fixed Assets document with the Start of Conservation transaction type.
If you need to cancel conservation of specific fixed assets, select the document that starts their conservation, then click the Generate button to create a new Conservation of Fixed Assets document with the Cancellation of Fixed Asset Conservation transaction type.
