The Fields tab defines the mapping between columns in the Excel file and fields of the selected FirstBit object.
Each line in the tabular section represents a connection between one Excel column and one system field.
The Fields tab determines which values from Excel are transferred to the selected object. Additional processing, calculations, or specific business rules may require configuration of import handlers.
Add button
Use the Add button to add new mapping lines to the tabular section.
Columns in the tabular section
Excel Field
Excel Field – specifies the name of the column in the Excel file.
The specified name is displayed in the Import Template form and is used as the column header in the Excel file downloaded using the Download option from the template form.
Local Field
Local Field – specifies the field of the object selected in the Object Type field on the Main Parameters tab.
The list of available values is generated automatically by the system based on the selected object. Adding additional fields in user mode is not available.
Selecting a Local Field defines the target field for data transfer. It does not automatically mean that the value can be processed without additional import logic or configuration.
Comment
Comment – provides additional information about the field.
Users can specify expected values, filling recommendations, or other instructions in this field. The comment is displayed in the corresponding cell of the Excel file downloaded from the template form.
Format
Format – specifies how values from the Excel file should be interpreted and converted for the selected Local Field.
When a Local Field is selected, the system attempts to automatically determine the appropriate format. If required, the user can change the suggested format manually.
If the Format field is empty, the value will not be converted automatically.

Create Objects
Create Objects – specifies whether the system can create a new object if the corresponding value from Excel does not exist in the system.
When this option is enabled, the system checks whether an object with the specified value already exists. If no matching object is found, a new object can be created according to the configured import logic.
Is Key
Is Key – identifies fields used to determine a unique object during import.
Instead of the standard field indicator, a key image is displayed for fields marked as key fields.
This option is available when:
- Import Type = Import to Objects is selected on the Main Parameters tab;
- the Local Field belongs to the selected object.
This option is not available for table sections.
Is this field required to be filled?
Is this field required to be filled? – allows users to specify fields that must contain values in the imported Excel file.
This setting defines validation during the import process and does not always correspond to mandatory fields configured in the system object.
