To define a new VAT rate, in the Description box, type the description for the rate (for instance, 9 %).
The VAT Rate (create) form
In the Description field, type a name for the VAT rate.
The Out of Scope option is available if one of the Tracking of Out-of-Scope Sales or Tracking of Out-of-Scope Purchases options or both are selected on the Administration > Settings > Taxes form. Select this option if the new rate will be used for transactions that are out of the VAT scope.
The Exempt option appear for selection if the Tracking of Zero-Rated and VAT-Exempt Purchases option is selected on the Administration > Settings > Taxes form. Select this option if the new rate will be used for VAT-exempt transactions.
In the Rate field, enter the percent of the new VAT rate.
To save the VAT rate, click Save; to save the VAT rate and close the form, click Save and close. For descriptions of other toolbar buttons, see Document Toolbar.
