In FirstBIT ERP, objects can be deleted in two stages:

  1. Users mark the selected objects for deleting. Before any object will become marked, the system checks if certain conditions are met. . If conditions are met, the item becomes marked for deletion. For details, see Setting up marks for deletion.
  2. You actually delete the marked objects by running the Marked Object Deletion service tool.

To actually delete the objects (documents) marked for deleting, use the Administration > Service Tools > Marked Object Deletion form.

The Deletion of Marked Objects form

You can select the deletion mode from the following options:

  • Automatically delete all selected objects: In this mode, the application selects all the marked objects that can be deleted. To use this mode, click Delete on the toolbar.
  • Delete objects selectively: In the selective mode, you must select among marked objects which you want to delete first.

Once you select the Delete objects selectively mode, the Next button appears on the toolbar. Click the button to view the list of all marked objects. By default, all objects are selected. Select the objects for actual deleting.

Note. Deleting of marked objects may take significant time. Generally, it is executed as a background process. You can speed up this operation if you select the Block all operations to speed up the deletion option at the bottom of the form. In this case, the operation will have the highest priority and will be performed faster.

You can use the button to clear all the check boxes and the button to select all the check boxes. Manually you can clear or select a check box for any document or object.

Objects with the selected check boxes will be deleted.

The Selective Mode. The list of all marked objects

When you are done selecting, click the Delete button on the toolbar.

If the application detects any reference to the marked object during the process, the object cannot be deleted. If such objects have been detected, the application presents a list of objects that cannot be deleted and a list of linked objects that prevented deleting.

The list of objects that cannot be deleted

For example, in the screenshot above, the object (Price With Discount 10%) cannot be deleted, because a number of contracts use it, and this price type is referred to in a number of customer orders and invoices. To delete this price type, you will need to mark these linked documents for deleting (by using the  button) or replace in documents this price type for another one by using the Edit  button). However, in many cases, a list of linked documents is not so long, and you can quickly and properly process it. Then, you can click the Retry Deletion button on the toolbar under the form heading.
