Audit log lists all the changes made in the database for the selected objects. Using the Audit Log Settings form, you can select objects for tracking the history of their changes in audit log.

To select the application objects for including in audit log, open Administration > Service Tools > Audit Log.

The application registers all the changes made in the database to the application's metadata. The current version of the application includes the following metadata:

  • Master records (175)
  • Documents (125)

Notice that all objects of metadata and all document types are included in audit log by default.

To exclude the object from audit log, select the object and click the Disable Audit Log button on the toolbar.

To include the object in audit log, select the object and click the Enable Audit Log button on the toolbar.

If the selected object has multiple attributes (fields), they appear in the right part of the form and you can select which of the attributes will be tracked in audit log.

To select all the attributes, make sure that the check box in the heading row is selected. Clear the check boxes to attributes that you do not want to include in log.

You can clear the check boxes for all attributes by clearing the check box in the heading row.

Use the button to expand the list.
Use the button to collapse the list. Alternatively, for these purposes you can use the buttons in the heading row.

Note. When you generate an audit log on the Audit Log form, the application compares the current version of the object with its previous version. Initially, when you just started to use the application, the initial versions of objects are not marked. To mark the initial versions of metadata objects, click More actions button, then select Write Initial Versions.

The toolbar buttons

Use the Enable Audit Log button to include the selected object in audit log and the Disable Audit Log button to exclude the selected object from the log.

The More actions button opens the dropdown list of the following actions:

  • Advanced Search: Click the option to open the Find dialog and select the search method (At beginning of line, Anywhere in the line, or Exact match).
  • Cancel search: Select this option to cancel the search.
  • Refresh: Click this option to refresh the list if other users also made changes.
  • Write Initial Versions: Select this action to mark the initial versions of metadata objects.
  • Stop Using Audit Log: Select this action to disable the audit log – it will not be generated until enabled again.
  • Change form: use this option to make change to this form layout.
