- 1.1.4.1. Adding an Email Account

How to configure email accounts

Email providers frequently update security settings, which can impact how email is accessed through protocols like SMTP, POP3, and IMAP. For example, in 2022, Yandex and Google modified their security requirements, affecting how email accounts are configured. As a result, 1C: FirstBit users must make additional adjustments when setting up email accounts.

I. If you need to add a Google mail account, follow these steps to connect your email:

  1. Enable App Access:

    • If Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is not enabled, allow less secure apps in Google Account settings.
    • If 2FA is enabled, generate an App Password at App Passwords.

  1. Configure the Mail Client:

    • Incoming Mail (IMAP): imap.gmail.com, Port 993, SSL enabled
    • Outgoing Mail (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com, Port 465 or 587, SSL/TLS enabled

    • Password: Google account password or generated App Password

2) Enable two-factor authorization in your Google account settings;

3) then go to the link https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords and generate a password for 1C: FirstBit application - the password will be shown to you only once, it should be memorized (copied and saved) and then used when setting up email account in 1C system.

    • Go to your Yandex account settings > Account security > App passwords and generate a new password for your mail client.
  3. Configure the Mail Client:

    • Use the following server settings:
      • Incoming Mail (IMAP): imap.yandex.com, Port 993, SSL enabled
      • Outgoing Mail (SMTP): smtp.yandex.com, Port 465 or 587, SSL/TLS enabled
      • Username: Your full Yandex email address (e.g., example@yandex.ru)
      • Password: Your Yandex account password or the generated App Password
