Email providers frequently update their security settings. For instance, in 2022, Yandex modified how email is accessed through the SMTP, POP3, and IMAP protocols. Similarly, Google has updated its security requirements, resulting in changes to email setup.
As a result, the account password can no longer be used for email connections in the 1C:FirstBit app. To configure the email account, the user must make additional adjustments on their email server.
I. If you need to add a Google mail account, follow these steps to connect your email:
Enable Less Secure Apps (if necessary):
- Go to your Google Account settings.
- Under "Security," find the option for "Less secure app access" and enable it, or use App Passwords if 2-Step Verification is enabled.
Generate an App Password (if using 2FA):
- If you have Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled, you must generate an app password.
- Go to your Google Account > Security > App passwords, select the app and device you want to use, and generate the password.
Configure the Mail Client:
- In your email setup, input the following server settings:
- Incoming Mail (IMAP): imap.gmail.com, Port 993, SSL enabled
- Outgoing Mail (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com, Port 465 or 587, SSL/TLS enabled
- Username: Your full Gmail address (e.g., example@gmail.com)
- Password: Your Google account password or the generated App Password
- In your email setup, input the following server settings:
Test the Connection:
- After configuring the settings, test the connection to ensure everything is working correctly.
Following these steps will enable your Google mail account to connect seamlessly to the mail client.

2) Enable two-factor authorization in your Google account settings;
3) then go to the link https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords and generate a password for 1C:FirstBit application - the password will be shown to you only once, it should be memorized (copied and saved) and then used when setting up email account in 1C system.
