This document is used to assign resources (Employee, position, Fixed assets, Items) by projects.
There are two types of Allocations: Long term planning and Period planning.
Long term will fix/allocate employee or fixed asset for particular project till future changes whereas period planning is allocating resources for specific period. This document can be used for future time card filling.
Go to project costing module > Resources Planning document (Project management documents)
Once open, the document page has link to various related reports and filters.
Click on create option to create a new document, lets create an example on how to record a long-term planning resources.
Fill in the details as required i.e. the entity, department, project and resource type.
The resources are of 4 types-Employee, Fixed assets, Item and Position.
For this example, Fixed asset is used as resource type.
Fill in the line, add the project task, the Fixed assets which needs to be allocated and the date from when it has to be allocated to the project.
Once done, post the document. You can view the details in summary using the reports of resource planning.
Based on resources planning document, Time card document can be created as well.
Go to Project costing > Time cards
Create a new document, fill the details as required i.e. Entity, Department, project and resource type.
Click on option fill by Resources allocation option, the line should be filled automatically based on resources planning document details.
Once details are filled, post the document.
