Before you can configure your Outlook account for using as email account for the FirstBIT ERP application, you need to create a special auto-generated 16-character password for this application.

Here, we provide a brief instructions on the following two methods of generating app password.

Method 1

  1. Sign in to your Outlook work account and then go to your View Account page.
  2. Click Settings () on the upper toolbar to the right.
  3. From the left navigation menu, select General.
  4. Select Privacy and data.
  5.  Click App passwords to create a new app password. Note: Your administrator may not allow you to use application passwords. If you don't see App passwords as an option, they're not available in your organization.

Method 2

If you use two-step verification with your work account and your administrator has turned on options on the Security Info page, you can create and delete your app passwords using the Security info page. Otherwise, you must follow the instructions and information in the Manage app passwords for two-step verification section.

  1. Select Security info from the left navigation pane or from the link in the Security info block, and then select Add sign-in method from the Security info page.Security info page with the Add sign-in method option
  2. On the Add a method page, select App password from the list, and then select Add.
      

  3. Select App password as the method and click Add.
  4. Specify a unique name for this password. Click Next.
     
  5. Enter the email account address that will be accessed using this password.
     
  6. A 16-character password has been auto-generated for the email account.
  7. Copy the text from the Password box to the clipboard or click the Copy button (to the right of the generated password), then paste the password to the Password field in the Email Account master record of the FirstBIT ERP application. After that, click Done.

Deleting your application passwords

If you no longer need to allow access of the external application to your Outlook email account, you can delete the associated app password.

On the Security info page, select the Delete link next to the App password option for the specific app.

Select Yes from the confirmation box to delete the app password. After the app password is deleted, it's removed from your Security info page.
