If you click for editing the existing email account on the list of email accounts, you can review this account settings on the following form.


The Email account settings form (the Sending emails tab)

The Description field shows the name or description of the email account.

The Email Address field shows the email address of the email account in the following format: description@mailserver.

The Email Sender Name field shows the description to be used as name of the sender of emails from this account.

The Use Account section shows the selected usage options:

  • For sending emails
  • For receiving emails

The Sending emails tab

Use the settings on this tab to specify how emails could be sent using this account.

The User name field shows the user name for using this email account.

The Password field contains the password used by the FirstBit ERP application to access this particular account. You can use the Password field to set a new password if it has been compromised. For this, you need to generate a new password for the FirstBit ERP application using the means of the email service. For details, refer to

Note. The password will be stored in the application so that the application can automatically send system notifications.

Select the Safe Logon check box if you need to increase security.

The Server field shows the service of the email web service and the Port field shows the number of the port to be used for sending emails from this account.

The Receiving emails tab

Use this tab to provide settings for receiving emails.

Use the settings on this tab to specify how emails could be received using this account.

The User name field shows the user name for using this email account.

The Password field contains the password used by the FirstBit ERP application to access this particular account. You can use the Password field to set a new password if it has been compromised. For this, you need to generate a new password for the FirstBit ERP application using the means of the email service. For details, refer to

Select the Safe Logon check box if you need

The Server field shows the service of the email web service. The Protocol and Port fields show the protocol and number of the port to be used for receiving emails to this account.

Select the Use secure connection (SSL) option if you want that the data that is being sent is encrypted before sending and then is decrypted upon receiving. Both the browser and the server will encrypt all traffic before sending any data.

Select the Keep email copies on server option if you want to keep copies of emails on the email server. With this option selected, you must specify how many days such copies should be kept, for this use the Delete emails from server after [ ] days field.

The Other settings tab

This tab can be used for providing parameters for both sending and receiving operations.

In the Server timeout field, enter time interval in seconds during which the application will wait for response from server.

The toolbar buttons

Use Check settings button to initiate the process of verifying the email account settings. The application sends a standard email to check that connection to mail server can be established within the server timeout interval.
