This tab is available if the Enable End-of-Service Benefit Calculation option is selected on the Administration > Settings > HR And Payroll form.

This tab provides information on the end-of-service benefit amount accrued for the employee that depends on the length of employment and the type of contract. For more information, see Overview of the End-of-Service Benefit Processing.

The "Employment Termination (create)" form. The End-of-Service Benefit tab

The Accumulated End-of-Service Benefits field is populated with the accrued amount of the end-of-service benefit if its calculation had been included as option for the Month-end-Closing process.

The End-of-Service Total Amount shows the end-of-service total amount to be paid to the employee calculated on the document date. This amount is calculated along with other amounts in the document, once you click the Calculate button on the toolbar.

Notice that the average daily salary is calculated as actual earnings during the last full month divided by the number of days (30); however. if such data is not available, then the salary from contract (or its last change) is divided by 30.

To correctly account for the paid benefit, the application compares the accrued amount and the calculated final pay for the benefit. If the accrued amount is greater than the final pay, then the following fields become available on the form:

  • End-of Service Benefit Income GL Account populated with the default income account specified in the employment contract or its changes.
  • Income Item populated with the income item specified in the employment contract or its changes.
  • Business Activity populated with which the employment was associated.

If the accrued amount is less than the final pay for the benefit, then the following fields become available on the form:

  • End-of Service Benefit Expense GL Account populated with the account specified in the employment contract or its changes.
  • Expense Item populated with the expense item specified in the employment contract or its changes.
  • Business Activity populated with which the employment was associated.

To review the calculation details, click the Show Calculation Details link—this opens the Details Information form where you can view the length of service in months and days, calculated daily salary and the accruals used in the calculation for different periods of employment with different accruals that were actual between the start and end dates. If the accruals from the employment contract and its changes were used for calculation, both the start and end date are equal to the last contract change date.

The Detailed Information form

The Calculation section under the heading displays the details of employee's service length including the number of days of unpaid unauthorized absences which are deducted from the service length for calculation of this benefit. Such absences can be registered by using the HR and Payroll > Time Tracking Documents > Other Absences form. For details, refer to Processing of Unpaid Absences.

The End-of-Service Benefit Amount field (under the table) shows the final pay for this benefit.
