The Inventory tab provides information on inventory items or raw materials used in production of the specified quantity of the finished goods in addition to specifications and how they are distributed over the listed finished goods.

Generally, the tab is filled out manually by listing the indirect material costs (tools, raw materials, or other items) that were used in production in addition to materials listed in the specification and by distributing their costs to the costs of finished goods items.

The tab includes the following two panes:

  • The Inventory Items pane: It contains a list of inventory items used in the manufacturing process in addition to items listed in specifications, for instance, tools or raw materials. Such items are recorded to the Work-in-Progress account.  You can populate the list from the specifications by clicking Fill > By Standards if you need to change the quantities of materials used for manufacturing (in this case, you need to list only the excessive quantities).
  • The Inventory Distribution pane: It lists the items resulted from manufacturing (from both the Assembly and Disassembly transaction types). Click the Distribute > By Quantity to distribute the inventory items (tools, raw materials) by quantity of finished goods.
