This is one of the main system catalogs. It contains To access the Items master data, go to Sales (or Purchasing, or Warehouse, or Production, or Service) > Master Data > Items.
Master records of the Item type contain information about the company goods and , raw materials, products and services. The catalog has a hierarchy structure. You can create and edit it on your own. It is empty by default. To complete this catalog correctly, you may need data from the UOM Classifier, Manufacturers, Warehouses and Companies catalogsmaster records can be arranged in a hierarchical structure by using folders.
By default, there no items in the system and there are no folders holding the items.
Before you can start creating master records for items, you may need to create master records of the following types: UOMs, Manufacturers, Warehouses, and Companies. However, you can easily add necessary items to those catalogs without leaving the Items list.
To access the catalog, go to the ‘Sales’ section (see figure below), ‘Purchasing’, ‘Warehouse’, ‘Service’ or ‘Production’.

There are no items in the system by default. To learn more about how to create them, see par. Creating and editing items. The 'Main Parameters' tab and the subsequent paragraphs.
As the list is filled and for convenience of work, you can change its display settings. Press the ‘More’ button in the catalog right side toolbar and select ‘Configure list...’ from the drop-down list. To learn more about the lists display settings, see par. Work with the item list.
The hierarchy structure is built using the Create Group button on the catalog toolbar. The number of dependency levels is unlimited. create all the necessary master records of these types on the fly when creating the items.
The Items list
The hierarchic list of items includes all the items available in the system. If you don't see a specific item, open another folder, use the Search field to locate the item by a string in its description, manufacturer, or SKU. You can change the list display settings to suit your particular needs. To learn more about the list display settings, see Working with the item list.
Toolbar buttons
To create a new item, click the Create button on the form toolbar; for details, refer to Adding an Item. To edit the existing item, double-click the line with its name,
Use the Create Group button to create folders to built the hierarchic structure. The number of levels is unlimited.
To create a group, enter its description. If the created group is part of another a group within another (parent) group, please specify the parent group in the Folder field (see the figure below).

You can allocate move the items in the between folders by dragging (in the same way as in desktop and mobile operating systems: select the item, press and hold the mouse button and drag it to the required folder) and by editing (in the create and edit items form, specify the folder where you want to move this item to)drag-and-drop method or by selecting another folder to hold a particular item.

- Items. Default GL Accounts: Use this link to view or edit the list of default GL accounts that are used for all items and GL accounts that are used for specific groups of items and for specific items. Also, you can create a new set of default accounts for an item, item group, or item type.
