To access the Companies master data, go to Sales > Master Data > Companies.

This is one of the main system catalogsthe very important master data. It contains the information about suppliers, buyerscustomers, partners, contractors, i.e. prospects, that is, all the legal entities the company deals with. The catalog has a hierarchy structure so you can create and edit the companies' catalog that would be convenient for use. To complete the catalog correctly, you may need the data from the Individuals, Items'

The master records of companies can be arranged in a hierarchical structure by using groups (folders). The number of hierarchy levels is virtually unlimited.

The hierarchic list of companies includes all the companies available in the system. If you don't see a specific company, open another folder, use the Search field to locate the company by a string in its brief or full description. You can change the list display settings to suit your particular needs. To learn more about the list display settings, see Working with the item list.

The Contact Information pane (to the right) displays the contact information of the company which is selected in the list.

Note. Before you import or enter master records for Companies, consider creating master records for Individuals, Item Price Types, Discount and Markup Types, Suppliers' Supplier Price Types, Currencies, Bank Accounts catalogs. However, you can create all the missing elements in them easily without leaving the companies list.

To access the catalog, go to the ‘CRM’, ‘Sales’ (see figure below), ‘Purchasing’ or ‘Service’ section.

Initially, there are no companies in the system by default. To learn more about how to create them, see par. Create and edit companies. The 'Main Parameters' tab and the subsequent paragraphs.

As the list is filled and for convenience of work, you can change its display settings. Press the ‘More’ button in the catalog right side toolbar and select ‘Configure list...’ from the drop-down list. To learn more about the lists display settings, see par. Work with the item list.

The hierarchy structure is built using the Create Group button on the catalog toolbar. The number of dependency levels is unlimited. To create a group, enter its description. If the created group is part of another group, please specify the parent group in the Folder field (see figure below).

You can allocate the items in the folders by dragging (in the same way as in desktop and mobile operating systems: select the item, press and hold the mouse button and drag it to the required folder) and by editing (in the create and edit companies form, specify the folder where you want to move this item to).database. You can manually create companies at any time and you can import the records as an .CSV or .XCL file.

To edit the existing company record, double-click the line with this company name.

Toolbar buttons

Click the Create button on the toolbar to add a master record for a new company. For details, refer to Adding a Company.

Click Create Group on the toolbar to create a group. The Companies (create folder) dialog box opens.

In the Folder field, select a group in which this group is a member. In the Description field provide a name for this group. Click Save and close to save the group and close the dialog box.

Available Links

On the forms, the only link is:

  • Companies GL Accounts: Use this link to view or edit the list of default GL accounts that are used for all the companies available in the database. Also, you can create a new set of default accounts applicable to groups of companies or specific companies. For details, see Companies. GL Accounts
