If an employee takes an

гauthorized leave and then returns to work, the absence days are not paid and must be deducted from the employee's length of service which is used as the base for end-of service benefit calculation and calculations of vacations and the termination final pay.

To track the unauthorized unpaid absences, you will need a Work Time Type for which the Unpaid Time check box is selected. By default, it is NR - Absences by Unknown Reasons (until cleared). However, you can add another Work Time Type for use by your entity using the HR and Payroll > See also > Work Time Type form. For details, refer to Adding a Work Time Type.

If any employee takes an authorized leave, you can register it by creating a new document on the HR and Payroll > Time Tracking Documents > Other Absences form. For an  unauthorized unpaid leave, you must specify the employee, date range of such absence and designate the absence type using the work time type with the Unpaid Time check box selected.  For details, refer to Creating an Other Absences document

Once posted, the Other Absences documents will be used by the Month-End Closing assistant (service tool) for automatic calculation of vacations and end-of-service benefits or for manual calculation. For an employee who has unpaid unauthorized absences, the number of such absences will be deducted from the employee's length of service used for vacation and end-of-service benefit calculations.

The Other Absences document is not used for payroll calculation. If the employee is being paid salary (the Salary Daily or Salary Daily-Calendar Days accrual type) or hourly wages (The Salary Hourly or Salary Hourly-Calendar Days accrual type), you will need to create Time Sheets each month to report the employee's actual working time and unpaid absences. If you assign the Basic Salary accrual type to the employees, the fixed amount will be paid each month of employment independently of actually worked time.

If the employee resigns or is dismissed, you create a document on the HR and Payroll > Human Resources Documents > Terminations form. The system will take into account any unpaid absences to reduce the length of service and decrease the final pay accordingly. For more information, see Creating a Termination.
