Problem: How to accrue and pay dividends to shareholders?

Solution: Use the program tools as shown.

Before you accrue dividends, you should accrue retained earnings. 

1. Create a GL Account for Dividend Payable in Chart of Accounts. Go to Accounting > See Also > Chart of Accounts:


Create it in Trade and Other Current Payables parent group:


Put Code, Description and Section as shown. Then Save and Close.
Section is an important field, and it defines Dimensions for this account as set in the system:


2. Create Transaction in Accounting > Service Tools > Transactions (General Ledger):


Add Transaction Remarks and Comment on the Main Tab:


And add record Dr Retained Earnings Cr Dividend Payable on the General Ledger tab to record dividend as payable. Put Shareholder in Dimension as shown:


3. Create a payment document (Cash Payment or Bank Payment) with Transaction Type - Others and Cash Flow - Dividends to pay dividend to shareholder:


Add Dividend Payable as Correspondence GL Account and Shareholder with its contract as Company:

So Dividends are paid to shareholder then:
