Problem: How to add a type of sick leave?

Solution: Use Sick Leave Types of the system as shown.

To access the master records, go to HR & Payroll > See also> Sick Leave Types
This master data is available only if the HR and Payroll module is enabled.

The master records of sick leave types store information about methods of sick pay calculation, parameters, and sick leave intervals. Create different sick leave types for different entities, departments, groups of employees if applicable, and so forth to comply with the labor laws and company policies.

Initially, there are no sick leave types in the system.
To add a new type, click Create on the toolbar. For more details, refer to adding a Sick Leave Type.

To edit a sick leave type, double-click the line with its name or click the line and then click More on the toolbar and Edit from the drop-down list. Add any number of sick leave types.

On the Sick Leave Type (create) form, create a sick leave type to be used to calculate sick leave pay for employees.
Fill required fields on this form: DescriptionAccrual Type, and Calculation Method.

In the Description field, provide a brief description of the sick leave type.
In the Accrual Type field, select an accrual type to be used as the basis for calculating sick leave pay.
As the calculation method, you can select one of the following options:

  • By Basic Salary: To calculate the sick pay amount based on the amounts of basic accruals, as specified in the Employment contract document and its changes.
  • By Average Earning: To calculate the sick pay amount based on the average daily amount earned during the specified number of months before the sick leave start date. Notice that only the accruals listed both in the sick leave base and contract can be used for calculating the average daily earnings.

Create a list of intervals by selecting them from the Sick Leave intervals list.

NOTE Before you start creating a new sick leave type, make sure that all the accrual and deduction types required for this sick leave type are defined on the HR and PayrollMaster DataAccrual and Deduction Types.
