This article applies only to the FirstBIT Contracting configuration (version 2.1.1.35.2 and later).
The document editing validation described below is part of the FirstBIT Contracting functionality and is not applicable to the standard FirstBIT ERP configuration.
Starting from FirstBIT Contracting version 2.1.1.35.2, additional validation was introduced to control editing of active Project Estimates documents.
As a result, some Project Estimates documents may become read-only depending on their status, document version, and user permissions. This behavior is expected and is part of the standard functionality of the FirstBIT Contracting configuration.
The system checks the following conditions before allowing a Project Estimates document to be edited.
If the user has the Add and Edit Document Project Estimates role assigned through their access profile, the editing validation is skipped and the document can be edited.
In Standard Project Manager access groups profile this role is enabled, but in customized profiles it should be ticked manually for users with access restrictions).

If the related project has one of the following statuses:

the editing validation is skipped and the document remains editable (subject to standard access rights).
If neither of the above conditions is met, the system checks the document version.
Editing is blocked when:
This validation prevents modification of obsolete Project Estimates versions and ensures that only the most recent version can be edited.
When the Project Budget field is empty and the Correction Type is not Variation, the project status is determined automatically.
In this scenario, a project with the Active status remains subject to the editing validation described above.
The validation rules described in this article do not apply to users with the Administrator role.
Administrators can edit Project Estimates documents regardless of document version or project status.
A Project Estimates document may become read-only when all of the following conditions are met:
