Case: how to add access rights for object in Section which user has rights restrictions to access A user does not have access to a specific section but needs permission to read and edit a particular object that belongs to that section.
Example:
A user do does not have access rights to see the Sales and Purchasing sections , but it is needed to give him access rights but needs permission to read and edit the Companies master data.
For instance, User Carl with has an HR Manager access profile only:.
If we need to give his access right to read/ edit Companies master data:
- Create new access profile with roles for Companies: in Administration - Master Data - Access Groups Profiles add new profile and select roles for needed object:
For Companies master data there should be following roles:
-Add and Edit Settings Companies;
-Read info Companies.
2. Give new Companies master data profile to user's access rights (in Administration - Master Data - Users, Access Rights tab):
Configure the Required Access Rights
In Administration → Master Data → Access Groups Profiles, add a new profile and assign roles for the required object.
For the Companies master data, the following roles should be included:
- Add and Edit Settings Companies
- Read Companies Information
In Administration → Master Data → Users, open the user's Access Rights tab and assign the newly created access profile.
After applying the specified settings, user Carl will gain the rights to read and edit the Companies catalog, but will After described settings user Carl will get access rights to read and edit Companies catalog, but still not see it in his user interface (because as Companies master data includes in is part of the Sales and Purchasing sections, and user which Carl dows does not have access right to see these sections).
Solution:
User Carl can find the Company catalog by name via full-text search at the very top of the ERP system form.
Further, if necessary, he can search for this directory via global search or - a more convenient option for work - add this directory to the favorites panel (by marking the star icon in front of the Company name).
How to find an object that is not available in the standard section navigation using Global Search, but you have access rights to this object
Use the Global Search field at the top of the FirstBit ERP interface.
Enter the name of the required object, for example, Companies.
Select the required object from the search results.
The object can be opened only if the user has the appropriate access rights.
For easier access in the future, the user can add the object to Favorites by clicking the star icon next to the object name.
