The Revision Functionality allows users to make changes to an existing project estimate without modifying the original version.
A revision can be created by clicking “Create Revision” under the Estimates tab. This opens a new editable version of the estimate.
This option is available when the status of the Estimate document is New.
In a revision, users can modify:
Quantity
Markup percentage and amount
Total cost
Amount excluding VAT
VAT percentage
Item content or description
Unit cost (rate)/ Cost is locked and cannot be changed. This restriction ensures that pricing approved earlier remains consistent and auditable. If the unit rate must change, a new estimate line or variation order should be created instead.
Revisions are typically used for:
Adjusting quantities due to scope changes
Updating the markup after negotiation
Incorporating approved variation orders
Aligning with client-approved BOQs
Once changes are made, the revision can be posted and submitted for approval if required. The system keeps the original version for traceability.
This function supports cost control, version tracking, and proper documentation of project changes without compromising pricing integrity.
